Rural & Industrial Electrician
Nambucca Valley
Electrical work for farms, rural properties, sheds, pumps, and industrial sites across the Nambucca Valley and hinterland. We've been doing this work here since 1996.
Rural Electrical Work in the Nambucca Valley
Rural and agricultural electrical work is a substantial part of what we do. The Nambucca Valley hinterland has a significant mix of farms, hobby blocks, rural residential properties, and working agricultural operations. Electrical work on these properties is a different challenge to standard suburban residential work.
Longer cable runs, three-phase machinery requirements, older rural infrastructure, generator changeovers, pump systems, and the practical realities of working on properties with significant distances between structures. We've dealt with all of it. Nearly 30 years in the same region gives us a genuine familiarity with what rural electrical work in this area typically involves.
Pump and Irrigation Electrical
Pump wiring is one of the most common rural electrical jobs we handle. This includes connecting new water pumps, replacing failed starters, upgrading bore pumps to three-phase, installing protection devices on existing pump systems, and fault-finding when a pump stops working.
If a pump has failed and you're not sure whether it's an electrical or mechanical problem, call us. We can often diagnose it quickly and give you a clear answer before you commit to any repair.
Shed Power and Farm Infrastructure
New sheds, machinery sheds, packing sheds, and workshops all need proper electrical installations, not extension leads running off the house. We install power, lighting, and three-phase connections for new and existing rural structures throughout the valley. We understand what a practical rural sub-board setup looks like and can advise on the right solution for your specific use.

New Rural Connections and Private Poles
If your rural property or new build needs a service connection, private pole installation, or a new point of attachment from the Essential Energy network, that work requires an ASP Level 2 accredited electrician. Les Craggs Electrical holds that accreditation and can manage the full project from the network connection through to your farm switchboard and shed sub-boards. Most of our rural work across the Nambucca Valley hinterland, Bowraville, Macksville, and surrounding areas falls within our regular service territory. Check our service areas.
Common Questions
No. In NSW, all electrical wiring must be carried out by a licensed electrical contractor, regardless of whether it's a house, a shed, or a farm structure. It is illegal for an unlicensed person to perform electrical wiring work. Beyond the legal requirement, improperly wired structures create genuine fire and safety risks. A licensed electrician will issue a Certificate of Compliance for the work, which is also required for insurance purposes.
Yes. We regularly service rural properties throughout the Nambucca Valley hinterland, not just the main towns. If your property is on a rural road or outside a serviced area, call us and we'll confirm coverage and be upfront about any travel considerations. Most properties within the valley are within our regular working area.
Yes. We can install the electrical infrastructure to prepare a property for a future solar or off-grid battery system, including switchboard upgrades, sub-board installations, and consumer mains upgrades where needed. We can also complete the electrical connection work once a solar system is installed. Call us to discuss the specifics of your situation.
