ASP Level 2 Electrician
Nambucca Valley & Mid North Coast

Accredited Level 2 electrical work for service connections, private poles, metering, and Essential Energy network work across the Nambucca Valley. Not every electrician can do this. We can.

What Is ASP Level 2 Work?

An ASP Level 2 (Accredited Service Provider Level 2) electrician is a licensed electrician who holds additional accreditation from the NSW network authority to work on, or near, the electrical distribution network. This is a separate accreditation to a standard electrical licence. Most electricians don't hold it.

Level 2 work covers anything that involves the connection between a property and the electricity network: the wires from the street, the service connection, the meter, and private poles. Without ASP Level 2 accreditation, an electrician cannot legally perform this work, regardless of how experienced they are.

Les Craggs Electrical holds ASP Level 2 accreditation and has been performing this work in the Essential Energy network area for many years. We manage the process with Essential Energy on your behalf and keep you informed throughout.

Frequently Asked Questions

Plain answers to the questions we get most often about Level 2 work.

An ASP Level 2 electrician is a licensed electrician who has been additionally accredited to work on or near the electrical distribution network. This includes service connections, metering work, and private pole installations. This requires network authority approval and cannot be done by a standard electrical contractor.

You need a Level 2 ASP electrician when connecting a new building to the grid, upgrading your service connection, replacing a private power pole, having a meter installed or moved, or when Essential Energy specifies that Level 2 work must be completed before they will connect or restore your power.

No. Level 2 work can only be performed by an electrician who holds current ASP Level 2 accreditation from the relevant network authority. Without this, an electrician cannot legally perform service connections, metering, or private pole work, even if they are highly experienced in general electrical contracting.

Timelines depend on the specific work involved and Essential Energy's scheduling for network connections. The electrical work on your property side is typically completed in a day or less. Network connections are then co-ordinated with Essential Energy. We manage this process on your behalf and keep you informed throughout.
